The Ellington Feline Foundation: Capital Campaign

The Problem

Across the Central Valley, thousands of pets fall through the cracks every year.Cats are born into feral colonies, and end up left untreated due to the lack of care. Existing shelters are overcrowded, low-cost clinics are scarce, and there are few humane options for cats who are elderly, feral, chronically ill, or otherwise un-adoptable, as a result:

  • Preventable illnesses go untreated
  • Feral populations continue to grow
  • Shelters face high intake and limited space
  • Cats most in need are euthanized or left to suffer

This is not due to a lack of compassion, it is due to a lack of infrastructure.

The Solution

The Ellington Feline Foundation is launching an initiative to build  an independent nonprofit lifelong feline sanctuary designed specifically to meet the needs of cats..This integrated model will provide:

  • Veterinary care
  • A sanctuary for feral, senior, and special-needs cats
  • Humane population control through spay/neuter and TNR support programs in partnership with other organizations.

Ellington Feline Foundation will not be a temporary fix. It will be a permanent, lifesaving resource for the community.

Why Feline-Focused Matters

Cats are not small dogs yet they are often treated as such.Feline-only facilities:

  • Reduce stress and illness
  • Improve medical outcomes
  • Increase adoption success
  • Allow specialized care for feral and fragile cats

By focusing exclusively on cats, Ellington Feline Foundation maximizes impact,  and humane outcomes.

Community Impact

In its first year, Ellington Feline Foundation goals are to:

  • Serve 1,000+ cats through medical, shelter, and sanctuary services
  • Divert cats from overcrowded shelters
  • Provide lifelong care for cats with nowhere else to go

Every dollar invested directly reduces suffering, saves lives, and strengthens the community.

Why Now

The Central Valley cat population crisis is growing, not shrinking. Without intervention, intake, illness, and euthanasia will continue to rise. This is the moment to:

  • Build infrastructure instead of temporary fixes
  • Invest in prevention instead of crisis response
  • Create a humane model that lasts for decades

Your support makes this possible.
